YAKUMO KOIZUMI

(小泉 八雲)

Acrylic on canvas

40cm x 125cm

The artwork is mainly inspired by the life of Lafcadio Hearn and the film ‘Kwaidan’.

It depicts the quest for a place with all the difficulties entailed and the inner awakening to find an identity (which he always looked for during all his travels) until his inner peace was achieved in Japan, where he died with the given name ‘Yakumo Koizumi’ (小泉 八 雲).

The painting was awarded a medal of contemporary art by the International Art Exchange Exhibition Kobe, Japan.
